Interim managers must be self-motivating, committed
individuals who can operate successfully, often in
challenging circumstances and possibly away from home.
This generally requires long and successful experience
in senior management positions in a number of schools
or local authorities. Management expertise as well
as experience often stands an interim manager in good
stead. It is best to think about a move into interim
management as a career change or development rather
than a time-filler!
We also put together specialist teams when required,
often needing class teachers, special needs support
teachers and behaviour management practitioners. To
date, these have typically been to help re-establish
standards in schools in special measures or of concern.
If you think you have this kind of background and
are looking for fresh challenges, then tell us about
yourself through a cv. You can download a proforma
here and read guidance
notes to help you sell yourself to us, and for us
to sell you to schools and local authorities! The
proforma is short and asks for your key attributes,
your recent experience, your qualifications and any
other information that is likely to help secure a
placement.
Interim management is a very fulfilling way of moving
on from the familiar routine or the ‘ceiling’
that senior managers can encounter. Many of those
who work through us rediscover the excitement and
rewards that brought them into the profession in the
first place. Don’t leave it too long before
getting in touch: we look forward to working with
you!
