This was an idea I had last week – and I wondered what your thoughts were on it.
At Creative Education we spend lots of time updating our courses, and course materials – pretty much essential these days with the pace of change in education.
Every now and then we decide to stop running a course – either because it wasn’t as popular as we’d hoped or because we’ve replaced it with something better.
For those courses we stop running that’s the end of it – those materials we’ve developed never get seen again.
Which to me seems like a waste. We turn those materials into Google Docs for people to take, improve and use for free in their schools.
They would come with a health warning – they’re not kept up to date by us any more so they could have aged significantly – but with a bit of TLC from everyone (us included) I’m sure they could make a really useful CPD resource.
So what do you think? Would you be interested in using a resource like that? Would you be interested in improving it so that others could benefits from it?
I often feel like ‘past’ training and resources end up filed away never to be stored again which seems like such a waste when they involved such effort and time in the first place. Even if, for whatever reason, training has moved on from that point, the content and ideas can still be hugely valid. I would welcome access to this and would be more than happy to help provide some useful online resources.
Hi Sarah. Thanks for that feedback. We’ve had only positive responses to this so far so I’m keen to look at how we can make some of these old training materials accessible through the blog. Watch this space!
