On this course you will learn about the new Ofsted Common Inspection Framework and the key judgements which inspectors will be making. We will work through the Grade Descriptors for each judgement and examine the key differences between the grades. Classroom observations are the most important evidence of the quality of learning and progress across the school and, using video lesson examples, we will look at and practise observation techniques, and including giving constructive feedback to colleagues and identifying CPD needs for future development.

  • Develop clear understanding of the Sept 2015 OFSTED Common Inspection Framework and its implications for special schools
  • Discuss your school's present strengths and areas for development in the light of OFSTED's new Evaluation Schedule
  • Practice the techniques required to observe, record and judge lessons
