‘Artaud applied is Artaud denied' - in the sense that Artaud's ideas are an inspiration and a challenge to both directors and actors rather than a set of methods and rules to be applied. This course will develop practical ideas to help teachers and students think about the issues and opportunities provided by his theory and practice. The course is suitable for those with all levels of experience.

The Theatre of Cruelty explained and explored
Classroom ideas for clarifying key terms and phrases
Key productions explored

Working towards an MA? Teachers attending this course have the opportunity to earn 20 Masters Level credits.
