Profile of a trainer

Return to previous page

Creative Education is an educational services company with strongly held philosophical and ethical views regarding:

  • the type of support we offer to our clients
  • the skills and background required by the trainers who deliver our services
Our service

We offer help, support and guidance to anyone who works in and with schools and colleges across the U.K. and beyond. As well as offering support in areas identified by us, we listen carefully to requests submitted by schools and make a concerted effort to match their needs closely with the help we can offer.

Our trainers must:
  • have wide-ranging experience of working in the education system
  • have a clear understanding of the difference between teaching and training
  • have self-evident inter-personal skills to enable them to create a sense of rapport between themselves and the delegates within a very short period of time
  • be passionate and enthusiastic about their subject and the process of education
  • be up-to-date in their field, in particular changes to the curriculum
  • be able to represent the professionalism, use the language and have the appearance of a trainer rather than a staff-room colleague giving a seminar
  • have the ability to engage with a small group of individuals (many of whom will be very experienced themselves) in a hotel environment, in an intense and challenging training situation for a period of six hours or so, and adapt according to the experience of the group, which can range from NQT to HOD
  • have the sensitivity and flexibility to respond to the needs of the delegates on the day and be prepared to alter the direction in which the session is going rather than sticking rigidly to their original plan for the day
  • be able to create an ethos where the delegates feel not only comfortable to challenge and enquire deeply about what they are being taught, but are actively encouraged to do so
  • be comfortable with the fact that they are representing Creative Education for that day and work within the ethos of the company to put the needs of the delegates first
  • be able to offer feedback with regard to alterations, additions or irregularities to the materials
  • be able to take on board delegates’ feedback and use this to constantly evaluate and improve their delivery
  • have the ability to create meaningful activities in relation to the course or devise useful schemes of work

  • You must be able to work freelance and be reasonably available for work.
  • You are unlikely to be able to combine a full-time job with training.
