Action research is widely held to be one of the most effective methods for analysing what works in the classroom and improving teaching. With this course you will get a comprehensive introduction to how to do it in practice so you can go back to school and start developing research projects of your own. As we go through the process we will explore a huge range of different teaching ideas that you can incorporate into your lessons.

  • Select a focus for your action research that dovetails with you and your school’s priorities
  • Generate new ideas and approaches to test from other schools, existing research, observation of colleagues and your own thoughts
  • Get colleagues, managers and students on side
  • Evaluate the success of your new approach with ideas for what different types of data you can collect and how to analyse it effectively
  • Share your successes with colleagues through presentations, research posters and articles
