Promoting Positive Body Image in the Primary School

A practical guide to teaching body image lessons sensitively and effectively to 5 to 11-year-olds

Boys and girls as young as five express concerns about their looks and weight and it can be difficult to know how best to address this at school. By working to promote positive body image as part of the curriculum, you will develop body confidence and raise the self-esteem of even very young children. This course walks you through a suggested curriculum and provides all the resources you’ll need to teach up to four body image lessons to 5 to 11-year-olds and we’ll also discuss strategies for engaging parents.
