This is an introductory course for all staff and volunteers working directly with children in schools. This course looks at the main risks to children online, considers the major platforms that children use (social media, gaming and live streaming) and examines how each of those platforms poses a different risk to children. We will consider how children can abuse each other online and then examine how we can work to keep children safe.
Elizabeth is an experienced safeguarding practitioner, adviser and trainer. She has over 15 years’ experience working in education and was formerly a Designated Safeguarding Lead in a secondary school. She is currently an independent safeguarding consultant and trainer, alongside working for a Local Authority as their Safeguarding in Education Adviser.
