This is a recording of a past webinar.

Joe Hayman, the Founder of the British Values Project, will discuss the value of values education, addressing teachers’ concerns about the Fundamental British Values agenda and making the case that if these concerns can be overcome, there are significant opportunities for learning and development for children and young people.

Based on his experience of delivering sessions on values in schools across the country, Joe will set out how to problematise the Fundamental British Values, explore their complexities and contradictions and encourage critical thinking amongst pupils, students and learners. He will also provide some practical hints on how to explore values with students, address how values can sometimes compete with one another, explore whether these values are distinctly British and ask which values might be missing from the list of Fundamental British Values, and why.
