Mental Health Leads: Staff Development

This collection of courses will help mental health leads to meet the Department for Education learning objectives with regards to staff development.

Leads will learn about:

  • the importance of staff looking after their own mental health
  • the importance of working with staff to promote and support a positive culture of staff mentalhealth and wellbeing.
  • evidence-based approaches for supporting their own, staff and pupil or student mentalhealth and resilience, such as trauma informed, counselling, mindfulness and other approaches, and the role these can play as part of a holistic approach.
  • signposting and arranging appropriate support for staff dealing with mental health issues and incidents in the school/college.

N.B. these are the DfE’s learning descriptors. Some of these are covered in the pathway. Some of these will be covered in live coaching sessions for this participating in our mental health leads training.
