About this course

Some children tell you straight away when something's wrong. Others go quiet, get cross over homework or can't settle at bedtime, and you're left guessing.

These are small ways to help at home. Ask 'talk to me about how you're feeling when you're ready' instead of 'are you stressed?', so you don't put the worry in their head. Make a mindful jar together, with a colour of glitter each for thoughts, feelings and urges, and watch it settle. When frustration boils over, keep your words few and calm, then plan together for the next time the same thing comes up.

You'll also find ways to build resilience by letting your child make mistakes and sort out small problems for themselves. And there's a reminder to look after yourself, because it's hard to keep a worried child steady when your own battery is flat.
