Behaviour management training for schools

Practical online training on behaviour for every adult in school: classroom routines, de-escalation, relationships and attendance.

59 courses, every one included with membership.

Where to start

Each course ends in a certificate showing the CPD hours, the date and when it’s due for renewal.

Getting the everyday right

Good behaviour in a school comes from every adult responding in roughly the same way, most of the time. That’s harder than writing a policy. These courses help staff get the everyday part right: setting expectations, building relationships with a class, praising in a way that means something, and dealing with low-level disruption before it grows.

When it escalates

Some behaviour has nothing to do with the lesson. There are courses on de-escalation and on responding to extreme behaviour, and on children whose behaviour comes from trauma, anxiety or difficulty regulating their emotions. They’re honest that what works for most children won’t work for all of them, and they’re practical about what to do instead.

Whole-school approaches

Leaders can take courses on relational and restorative approaches, on reducing exclusions, and on what poverty and scarcity do to behaviour. They sit alongside the Department for Education’s Behaviour in Schools guidance.

Attendance

Attendance and behaviour are tangled together. So there are courses on emotionally based school avoidance, on working with parents to overcome barriers to attendance, and on helping children back after long absences.

Questions about behaviour training

Is this training for teachers or for all staff?

All staff. Lunchtime supervisors and teaching assistants deal with a lot of the behaviour in a school, and a whole-school approach only works if everyone has the same training.

Do you cover de-escalation?

Yes, from the basics of de-escalation to responding to extreme behaviour, for classroom staff and for leaders.

Do you teach a particular behaviour system?

No. The courses cover approaches that work in most schools, from clear routines to relational practice, so you can use them with the policy you already have.

Do you cover attendance?

Yes. There are courses on emotionally based school avoidance, working with parents and supporting children back after persistent absence.
