Look After Yourself Whilst Looking After Others

Here we look at 5 ways to maintain wellbeing during the school day around our roles and activities. Although term time is fraught and days are busy, by taking just a few moments to ‘notice’ or ‘connecting’ with others, you can change your own behaviours into good wellbeing habits which will not only benefit you but impact on those around you.  This course is especially suitable for anyone supportingh pupils with special or additional needs, but there are useful ideas in here for everyone! 

Your Trainer – Julie Watson

Julie Watson has led training for HLTA’s and Teaching Assistants both nationally and internationally and has led teams of teaching assistants in school. As a practising SENCo, she currently works with support staff in a whole variety of roles. 

What You Can Expect

This course is an on demand video course that you can watch at a pace to suit you. The content is delivered in bite sized videos that will take less than an hour to watch in total. Implementing the ideas will take longer of course!

Whilst the videos are designed to be watched as a series, you might choose to come back and dip in and out of particular modules to refresh your knowledge.

At the end of the course there is a short activity to help you reflect on what you’ve learned and consider how to take it forwards. It’s absolutely up to you whether you decide to do this, but many people who do tell us that it helps them to apply what they’ve learned to their current context and think clearly about what practical next steps they can take to have a positive impact with their new knowledge, understanding and skills.
