Developing the Post Pandemic Curriculum

As learners return from lockdown, schools and colleges are looking forward and wondering what the new normal might look like from September. How does the post-pandemic curriculum need to change in order to fully meet the new and changing needs of learners?

There’s a range of courses, included in your Membership, that you can use to start to answer those questions.

You might want to start with Matt Bromley’s excellent course ‘Develop an Outstanding Curriculum: Intent, Implementation & Impact‘. Matt’s a recognised expert on this with three books published and many articles for SecEd. This course will give you a strong framework through which to think about curriculum development and some practical ideas for how to take things forward.

Obviously, one of the key differences in any post-pandemic curriculum will be the emphasis placed on blended learning. If you want some ideas to start your thinking here another of Matt’s courses for us ‘Make a Success of Remote Teaching‘ is a great option.

And lastly, although it may have got somewhat lost in the crisis, Health Education becomes statutory in England from September 2020.  ‘Get Health Education Right‘ will give you a chance to review your plans and make sure you’ve got everything ready for the start of term.
