Get Ready for the New English & Maths Functional Skills Qualifications with £8,000 Project Funding

English & Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications are changing from September 2019, as the new curricula is rolled out. To help you prepare for the change, the Education and Training Foundation are providing £8,000 to 15 partnerships of Post-16 providers to create innovative projects that improve the quality of Functional Skills delivery.

You Decide the Focus

What you decide to focus your project on, is completely up to you. We’ll be looking specifically for projects with a clear focus on Functional Skills delivery that are innovative, evidence-based, sustainable and transferable.

Projects must be delivered by a partnership of a minimum of two providers – providing you with a great opportunity to compare approaches with colleagues and develop successful strategies together. Each partnership will receive £6,000 in funding and £2,000 in-kind support, which includes an assigned project mentor.

How to Apply

Completed applications must be submitted through our application gateway no later than 4 p.m. on the 31 October 2018.  A valid application must have both a completed application form and partnership agreement.

We’re passionate about the difference our projects make to teaching and learning, and have defined this difference through a series of outcomes. We take account of the outcomes your project will achieve in our assessment. You can read about these in the application guidance.

We will assess your application and give you a decision by 16 November 2018.
